PAWEŁ ŚWIEBODA
President of the Board

Paweł Świeboda is President of demosEUROPA – Centre for European Strategy. Graduate of the London School of Economics and the University of London. He served as the EU Advisor to the President of Poland in the years 1996-2000. He then headed the Office for European Integration in the Chancellery of the President. In the years 2001-2006 he served as Director of the Department of the European Union in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs where he was responsible for EU accession negotiations and subsequently institutional reform in the EU and negotiations on the Financial Perspective. He is a Member of the Lisbon Council, Member of the Advisory Board of the European Policy Centre, and Member of the Advisory Board of the Baltic Development Forum. He is a member of the Advisory Group which assists the Polish government in its preparations for the EU presidency in 2011. He is also an author of numerous articles on European integration and international relations. He has a column on foreign policy in “Gazeta Wyborcza”, Poland’s largest daily.

KRZYSZTOF BLUSZ
Vice-President of the Board

Krzysztof Blusz serves as Vice-President of the Board of demosEUROPA – Centre for European Strategy Foundation. A graduate of the University of Lodz (1993) and a visiting academic at King’s College University of London (1994-1998) spent the 90’s on teaching and researching at both institutions. In the years 2000-2008 entrepreneur and senior marketing & communication consultant. Krzysztof has co-authored and managed numerous information programmes and public campaigns focused on the EU, Lisbon Strategy, the common market, the European social model and migrations in the EU. He has been with demosEUROPA - Centre for European Strategy since its inception in 2006 as one of its founding fathers.

AGATA HINC
Project Leader
"Low Emission Economy"

Agata Hinc is “Low Emission Economy” Project Leader at demosEUROPA – Centre for European Strategy. A graduate in European Studies at the University of Warsaw. She is in charge of Carbon Capture and Storage technology (CCS) and European Trading Scheme (ETS) projects. Her research is focused on EU relations with developing countries, and specifically on the African continent. An author of articles, commentaries, reports and studies on energy and climate change, development policy and the European Union external relations. She writes a blog at www.africanews.com.

IGNACY ŚWIĘCICKI
Head of Office

He graduated from the Mathematics department at the University of Warsaw in 2007 and is currently completing a degree in Economics at the Faculty of Economic Sciences. He joined demosEUROPA in October 2008 as an analyst (economic and institutional matters). His current duties focus on the supervision of day-to-day activities of the Foundation, coordination of its programmes and management of events.

PAWEŁ ZERKA
Analyst in the "Strategies for Growth" Programme

Graduate in international relations of the Warsaw School of Economics; currently Ph.D. candidate in the Collegium of Socio-Economics in this school. He spent one year on a scholarship at SciencesPo Bordeaux, France, and half year at the University of Buenos Aires. Holds a certificate in political studies of the Institute of Political Studies in Bordeaux. In his scientific research he concentrates on theories of international relations, while in his professional career he is focused on the European innovation policy.

JERZY BRODZIKOWSKI
Project Assistant – “Poland’s Low Carbon Transition Strategy. Putting Poland on the path of CO2 emissions reduction”

Graduate of Collegium Civitas University in Warsaw, from where he received his Master's degree in International Relations with a specialization in Diplomacy. He also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Communication with a specialization in Public Relations from Florida International University in Miami, USA. He is a graduate of the “Honors College” programme at FIU as well. He spent a semester at the Paris Institute of Political Science (Sciences Po) studying International Affairs, and five months interning at the Centre for International Studies and Research (CERI) affiliated to Sciences Po. His interests include political ecology and energy policy.

MAGDALENA WOŹNIEWSKA

Graduate in International Relations at the University of Warsaw. In 2009-2010 student of College of Europe, specializing in environmental issues and energy policy in the European Union. She spent one year in France while realizing Socrates-Erasmus Program. Holder of the “Certificate in Political Studies” of the Institute of Political Studies in Aix-en-Provence. Her scientific interests include global aspects of climate change policy and the evolution of the role of the United States in the contemporary world.
